Singer Ben E. King, whose classic hit "Stand By Me" has been around for generations; and he had all types of listeners, has died at age 76 on Thursday, April 30, 2015 in New Jersey according to CNN and his booking agent, "Randy Irwin". ..

September 28, 1938 – April 30, 2015
Ben E. King, was an American soul and R&B singer. In my opinion best known as the singer and co-composer of "Stand by Me"—a US Top 10 hit, both in 1961 and later in 1986 (when it was used as the theme to the film of the same name), and a number one hit in the UK in 1987! He was also one of the lead singers of the R&B vocal group "The Drifters".May he rest in peace.
