Tony Backwood$, born in Charlotte, North Carolina. Moved to Savannah in 2011 to attend college. Tony Backwood$ first started DJ'ing towards the end of my freshman year under the name, "Rubinn The DJ". After a few parties, he met his manager Tiran which led to larger gigs such as clubs and private events. Over the course of 6 months he has DJ'd for "Big Boi", "August Alsina", "Spodee", and "Zuse". A little over a year later one of the clubs he played at got shut down. With all the new free time Mr. Backwood$ started making beats and shortly after found himself in a studio in Atlanta where he met his artist , Leiffy Luciano. He has been producing for him ever since as well as several other Atlanta artists. He and Leiffy plan to release their debut project, StayDown in the next few months.
