Clay Hodges is a 22 year old hip hop artist from Savannah, GA. He got his musical roots from his mother, Tracy Hodges, who is a pianist that has played for various churches for over 25 years. He began writing poems at a young age and developed an interest in music at the age of 10. He started singing in the youth choir his mother directed and his sudden interest in music turned into his passion. He then began writing raps to express his frustrations on life and the environment that surrounded him. By the age of 15, he began recording music and releasing it to his peers with hopes of starting a music career. He teamed up with Vonte "Halftyme" Sams, a young music producer, in the summer of their senior year of high school to work on his first official mix tape entitled, "Patiently Waiting." Patiently Waiting was completed in his first semester of college the following year and was releases on Datpiff.com. 1,000 hard copies of this mix tape was passed out in Savannah, Atlanta, and Miami. A music video entitled, "Road to Riches," was shot and released on youtube from the mix tape as well.

Clay then participated in a series of cyphers that included other local acts. The success of the cyphers helped Clay gain respect as a lyricist from his peers and listeners in the community. He followed up the cyphers with the release of a music video entitled "Hell and Back," shot by Throwdown Films. Shortly after Hell and Back was released on youtube it was featured on Worldstarhiphop.com and now has 11,000 views. Since the release of Hell and Back, Clay has been working on a new mix tape entitled, "Diamond in the Rough." He looks forward to showing his audience how much he has grew as an artist and song writer. With this project he seeks to penetrate the minds and souls of his listeners, new and old, and to break through with his music career. Clay would like to one day win a Grammy Award.
